Reach out to a hotline in Finland for support with substance abuse and drugs or alcohol addiction

If you or a loved one is struggling with substance use, such as drugs and alcohol addiction, you’re not alone. Substance use disorders and substance-related problems affect millions of people each year, but the good news is that they are treatable. If you notice any of the following symptoms, reach out to one of 4 helplines in Finland.

  • Experiencing interpersonal problems as a result of substance abuse.
  • Feeling an urge to use drugs, alcohol or other substances regularly.
  • A loss of interest in activities previously enjoyed.
  • Being unable to stop using drugs or alcohol despite the negative consequences it is causing.
  • Obsessive thinking about using drugs or alcohol that makes it hard to focus on anything else.
  • Having a short temper and being more irritable and aggressive than usual.
  • Erratic changes in mood, or mood swings.
  • Using under dangerous circumstances, for example drinking and driving.

If you've tried to stop using substances like drugs or alcohol on your own without any success, you may feel defeated. It may be hard to imagine a way out. However, a large proportion of people make a full recovery with time and proper support.

Consider contacting a helpline in Finland if you or someone you love is battling with substance use or addiction. No matter how bad things may seem, help is available. There are compassionate recovery advocates who care about your situation and want to support you,
