Are you or a loved one struggling with substance abuse, such as drugs or alcohol? Hotline support is available in United Kingdom

Substance abuse – such as drug and alcohol addiction – affects millions of people and their loved ones each year. While the impact of substance use disorders and substance-related problems can be devastating, help is available and recovery is possible. Take the first step and reach out to one of 14 hotlines in United Kingdom if you relate to these symptoms:

  • Using more of drugs or alcohol than was originally intended.
  • Inability to stop using drugs or alcohol despite repeated attempts.
  • Having a short temper and being more irritable and aggressive than usual.
  • Feeling an urge to use drugs, alcohol or other substances regularly.
  • A loss of interest in activities previously enjoyed.
  • Being secretive and dishonest about when and how often you use drugs or alcohol and with whom.
  • Low energy and fatigue.
  • Sudden weight gain or weight loss.

If you've tried to stop using substances like drugs or alcohol on your own without any success, you may feel defeated. It may be hard to imagine a way out. However, a large proportion of people make a full recovery with time and proper support.

Crisis counselors are available to support you whether you are the one struggling, or whether you're concerned about a friend or family member. You can get free, confidential, zero-judgement support for substance use and addiction from a hotline in United Kingdom.
