Get free, confidential help with anxiety from a hotline in Belgium

Many people experience anxiety at some point in their lives. Even though it may be different for each person, you aren't alone in feeling anxious. If you're struggling with anxiety or worry, or think you might be having a panic attack, there are 5 helplines in Belgium who can understand how you're feeling. The following are just some examples of anxiety symptoms:

  • Feeling irritable or on edge
  • Avoiding situations that cause worry
  • Feeling an urge to escape difficult situations
  • Feeling weak or exhausted by your thoughts
  • Struggling to control thoughts and feelings that are centered around things you're worried about
  • Feeling like you're out of control
  • Ruminating (spending a lot of time obsessing over things that are worrying you)
  • Feeling like you can't calm down

All of these are normal symptoms of anxiety. Some of these are similar to what you might feel during stressful times, but with anxiety, you might feel these even when there isn't anything causing you to be stressed. Some people also experience anxiety or panic attacks, which are sudden moments of very intense panic or fear.

Although anxiety can make you feel alone in your struggles, what you're going through is very common. There's always help available in Belgium, and someone to help you understand and manage your anxiety.

If you are ready to talk to someone about your experiences of anxiety, you can contact a hotline in Belgium for free and confidential support.
